Naked Wines reports "good performance" over Christmas
Naked Wines has reported its Christmas trading was in line with expectations, up by 11% on the same period last year.
The announcement of the results, for the ten weeks to December 31, 2019, coincide with the news that chief executive Rowan Gormley has now retired from the group board, as previously announced. Nick Devlin will take over the Group Chief Executive role with immediate effect.
Greg Hodder has also now formally stepped down from the Board, having handed the chairman role to John Walden at the company’s annual general meeting in August 2019.
Devlin said: “The team have worked hard over the Christmas period and delivered a good performance. With the important Christmas season behind us, we are now acutely focused on executing our plans and achieving our huge growth potential.
“Rowan leaves the business in great shape. We have the internal capability, clarity of purpose and financial resources to push ahead with our growth plans and deliver value for customers and shareholders alike.”
