Marks & Spencer releases new range of £5 wines
Marks & Spencer has released a range of own-label wines priced at £5 per bottle.
The ‘This Is’ range comprises 15 new wines “from spicy reds and blushing rosés to tropical whites and more”, each from the 2019 vintage and priced at £5 a bottle apart from two sparkling variants from Italy: a non-vintage rose and a non-vintage brut, priced at £6 a bottle.
The company said: “There is no judging a book by its cover here – the labels show exactly what wine is on the inside. Ideal for wine-lovers who might find the wine aisle a bit of a maze, the range is designed to offer guidance on taste, styles and grape varieties and help customers pick their perfect wine.”
The new wines, which showcase popular styles and grape varieties with bright, simple labels, were created by M&S winemakers, led by Belinda Kleinig.
M&S Foodhalls are currently still open and earlier this month the retailer launched a wine delivery service.
Delivery is free for orders over £100, as well as free nominated day delivery for orders over £150.
